The four types of processes for preparation of nanometer powders: hydrolysis of titanium alkoxide, hydrothermal crystallization method, sol-gel method , fritted glaze and supercritical fluid drying, and liquid system without anatase to rutile transformation method are discussed and evaluated respectively.
The liquid system without anatase to rutile transformation method has advantages over the other three methods. With the method, nanometer TiO2 powder can be produced at normal atmosphere and low temperature. Furthermore, its simplicity and lower cost make it the promising liquid method for preparation, in large production, of nanometer TiO2 powders.
